Job Description
Civil Science is currently seeking a qualified Accounting Assistant to join our creative and energetic team in our Lehi, UT office. This position involves handling various accounting tasks, ensuring accurate financial records, and collaborating with different departments to facilitate smooth financial processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
- Process and verify client invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and DOT requirements.
- Daily entry of AP invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Prepare weekly payments to vendors and suppliers
- Manage AR process. Including monitoring and following up on overdue client payments.
- Daily cash receipt entry
- Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring adherence to company policies.
- Generate and analyze financial reports to provide insights to management.
- Work closely with other departments to gather financial information and provide support.
- Additional ad hoc requests from Controller and other Senior staff
Minimum Requirements:
- 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter, with ability to work both independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in financial reporting
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint
- Previous experience in Engineering firm accounting with knowledge of governmental and commercial related regulations
- Familiarity with ePM
- Familiarity with FAR compliance
