THE ROLE

The Sr. Strategist - Executive Communications plays an important role in leading the development of an internal- and external-focused executive messaging platform that positions senior execs as thought leaders and culture carriers. Leveraging their expertise in executive communications, this role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional writing and communication skills, capable of crafting compelling narratives and presentations across various mediums that align with the firm’s purpose and strategic priorities. Working closely with executives and the Market Insights team, this position will turn complex information into simple and differentiated storytelling that resonates with clients and key stakeholders and enhances the MFS brand.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Lead the development of executive messaging platforms for select senior leaders, establishing messaging “lanes” for various execs and spokespeople; ensure all content is aligned with the firm’s strategic goals and priorities.

Partner with leadership, SMEs and insights teams to write and develop executive presentations, whitepapers, speeches, talking points, video scripts, panel outlines, etc. for internal and external use.

Partner with Sales and Events teams in the content planning process for various events involving executive speakers.

Support key executives in preparation for industry and client events and speaking engagements; partner with PR to support executives in media interviews.

Support leaders with their presence on social media, such as LinkedIn and Microsoft Viva Engage (internal social platform).

Drive organizational change communications related to key executives and investment personnel.

Manage the planning, content and execution of key internal leadership meetings, including the bi-monthly Leadership Forum and semi-annual Company Meeting.

Manage the semi-annual content planning and drafting of the internal Chairman’s Update publication and annual year-end client letter.

Establish new leadership visibility programs (i.e., executive video series, feedback loops).

Partner with data and insights teams to research and develop/create proof points and supporting illustrative communications in a compelling data-driven fashion.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

8-12+ years of experience in communications, marketing, chief of staff or related roles.

Experience working closely with C-suite executives.

Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal, in a highly visible role.

Ability to turn complex concepts and data into simple and actionable communications/insights.

Excellent writing, organizational and communications skills.

Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to handle sensitive information.

Strong people skills with the ability to build relationships across the firm.

Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.
