About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) to lead its accounting function and play a pivotal role in the organization's financial health and integrity. The CAO will be responsible for general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, accounting processes and systems, vendor management and procurement, and regulatory reporting. This role demands a professional with a deep knowledge of technical accounting best practices, including US GAAP, and the ability to provide strategic financial guidance. The successful candidate will work closely with the CFO to ensure the implementation of best-in-class financial accounting processes and systems, oversee day-to-day financial operations, and develop internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Applicants for the CAO position at the company should have a minimum of 15 years of progressive accounting experience, a CPA or equivalent certification, and a Series 27 License. Public company experience is essential, with a background in the financial services industry and experience as a Financial & Operations Principal strongly preferred. The role requires a leader with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, who can effectively manage organizational change and lead a high-performing accounting team. Proficiency in financial software and systems, as well as a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, is also necessary. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and have a proven track record of driving efficiency and scalability in accounting systems and processes.
