Job Purpose: The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Accounting to oversee all financial aspects of our organization. The Director of Accounting will play a crucial role in ensuring financial transparency, accuracy, and compliance with all regulatory requirements. This position requires a strategic thinker who can provide financial leadership and support to achieve our mission of empowering youth and fostering positive community impact.

Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management:
- Oversee all accounting functions including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assists with the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads and senior management.
- Monitor budget performance and provide regular financial analysis and recommendations to the CFO and Executive Team.
- Audit and Compliance:
- Assist with the annual audit and tax filings, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to nonprofit organizations and accounting practices.
- Implement internal controls to safeguard organization assets.
- Financial Strategy and Support:
- Provide strategic financial advice to the CFO and Executive Team to support decision-making and organizational growth.
- Collaborate with program leaders to analyze program finances and ensure financial sustainability.
- Support grant reporting and management of restricted funds.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide opportunities for professional development.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and regulations.
- Experience with financial management software (e.g., Sage Intacct) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels.
