Job Overview

The Plant Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing financial management, asset oversight, and plant accounting for our client's plant. The role plays a key part in tracking operational performance and driving financial insights.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage monthly financial closing processes, including preparing journal entries and generating reports.
  • Review and update inventory reserves as needed.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of plant cost center expenses on a monthly basis.
  • Monitor spare parts spending and manage related inventory.
  • Gather and report on plant production metrics and labor statistics.
  • Provide financial data for capital projects and new product development.
  • Offer guidance on appropriate spending classifications (capital vs. operational expenses).
  • Update and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and production Routings when necessary.
  • Set and manage Standard Costs for the plant’s products.
  • Perform the annual review of unit standard costs, including labor rates, variable overhead, and technical structure rates.
  • Collaborate with plant and warehouse teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive improvements.
  • Assist plant management in preparing budgets for labor, variable overhead, and technical structures.
  • Strengthen internal controls to protect plant assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 4+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong understanding of cost accounting.
  • Proficiency in SAP
