Job Title: Cost Accounting ConsultantJob Description
We are seeking a skilled Cost Accounting Consultant to join our team on a short-term project. The consultant will be responsible for retrieving statements from vendors, ensuring payments are processed correctly, and conducting bank reconciliations. The role requires close collaboration with our accounting team to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded in the General Ledger. This position reports directly to the controller.
Responsibilities
+ Retrieve statements from vendors to ensure payments are processed correctly.
+ Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded in the General Ledger.
+ Assist with short-term cleanup projects to support the accounting team.
+ Collaborate closely with the controller and other team members to ensure accuracy and compliance.
+ Prepare financial reports and statements as required.
Essential Skills
+ 3-5 years of Accounts Payable experience, including vendor statement and account reconciliation.
+ Proficiency in NetSuite.
+ Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles.
+ Experience with financial reporting and general ledger management.
+ Ability to conduct month-end and year-end closing activities.
+ Proficiency in bank reconciliation and journal entry preparation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with QuickBooks is a plus.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Work Environment
This role is based in an office environment with standard working hours. The consultant will work closely with the accounting team and report directly to the controller. The dress code is business casual.
