Michael Surface Solutions Inc. is one of California’s leading commercial flooring companies, specializing in providing high-quality flooring solutions across the state. We are seeking a motivated and energetic Junior Accounting Clerk to join our team.

Position Overview:

The Junior Accounting Clerk will assist with day-to-day financial operations, including data entry, processing invoices, ordering materials, payroll, timecards, and maintaining accurate records. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Excel and Word. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of accounting experience and be eager to contribute to our growing company.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative support to the senior accounting team.
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Maintain organized digital and paper filing systems.
• Prepare basic financial reports using Excel.
• Process payroll, including timecard management and creation of W-2s and 1099s.
• Handle general filing tasks and maintain accurate records.
• Coordinate and manage logistics for shipping and receiving.
• Process invoices, payments, and expense reports.
• Perform data entry and update accounting records as needed.
• Order materials and ensure timely delivery.
• Demonstrate strong computer skills, with proficiency in relevant software.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
