Summary:
We are looking for a Director of Accounting to oversee technical accounting and manage the accounting processes for all of Science Exchange’s departments and entities. This position will report to the SVP of Finance & Accounting.
About you:
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of overseeing technical accounting and financial statement audit procedures. You should be comfortable researching technical accounting matters, and developing and communicating your recommendations. This position is responsible for the accounting and reporting of the company’s treasury flows and investments, so you should have relevant experience overseeing treasury processes. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter who is excited about the opportunity to work for a well-funded Life Sciences SaaS company at a unique inflection of growth and with a rapidly growing customer base. You should be ambitious, energetic, comfortable thinking on your feet and excited to work in a high-performance setting. Most importantly, you should be excited about being part of a dynamic Finance team focused on driving technical excellence while continuing to improve automation and efficiency.
About the role:
Specific qualifications & requirements:
The US-based salary range for this full-time position is $150,000-$175,000. Our salary ranges are determined by the role and seniority level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay can be determined by additional factors including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
Please note that the compensation details listed in US-based postings reflect the base salary only. Incentive compensation and health, dental and vision benefits are also offered for all US-based roles.

About the role:
- Overseeing technical accounting and managing the accounting processes for all departments and entities.
- Developing policies and procedures that facilitate the achievement of corporate and business objectives.
- Ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial reporting
- Performing analysis of new applications of accounting standards and policies
- Implementing policies for new audit requirements
- Ensuring accurate disclosures in the financial statements
- Leading accounting and financial due diligence for acquisitions
- Guiding and educating on technical accounting issues
- Preparing accounting memos for financial reporting
- Maintaining global accounting processes and policies
- Assisting with ad hoc projects as requested
Specific qualifications & requirements:
- CPA certification required
- Accounting license with minimum 5+ years relevant experience
- Public accounting audit experience required, preferably in technology or banking sectors
- Extensive knowledge of US GAAP
- Strong technical skill set including experience with enterprise ERP systems; familiarity with Sage Intacct is strongly preferred, experience with Salesforce is desirable
- Strong analytical abilities
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent communication and organizational capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
- A self-starter with the ability to thrive in a quick adapting and high-growth environment
