POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our team. The Accounting Manager is charged with providing leadership and technical expertise to the Accounting team to ensure we are generating complete and accurate financial information. As a leader of people, your leadership skills will be instrumental in fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. This role requires the ability to lead by example, provide clear direction, and support the professional development of your team. This role will oversee a team of five clerical staff and one staff accountant. The manager will join his/her peers in creating and documenting the key internal controls that will be relied upon and tested as the Company transitions from a Financial Statement Review to a Financial Statement Audit in 2024.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide strategic guidance to the team in alignment with organizational goals.
- Set clear objectives and performance expectations, ensuring that team members understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Further develop best practices and ensure the Company’s Accounting procedures conform to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Encourage a sense of ownership and accountability among team members.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that values collaboration and innovation.
- Support Month-End Close for the Company’s multiple branch locations through analytical review of the monthly operating results and preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Ensure all Company accounts are fully reconciled monthly. Escalate reconciling items and discrepancies for investigation to achieve timely resolution and provide direct feedback to the Corporate Controller.
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating variances against expectations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and document end-to-end business processes.
- Both prepare and review various information requests to support audits and other reviews to the external accounting firm, banks, and regulatory agencies as requested.
- Manage accuracy and productivity of staff within areas of responsibility.
- Develop and document effective internal control policies and procedures with the support of the Corporate Controller.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Special projects as requested, including but not limited to software enhancements and/or upgrades, analysis of operations activities as they relate to accounting, and identification of opportunities for improvement.
- All other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
The knowledge requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- BA/BS in Accounting and/or Finance. Master’s degree in Accounting with other undergraduate degree would also be considered.
- Minimum 4 years proven experience in Accounting management roles with a focus on Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, month-end close, account reconciliations, internal controls and process documentation.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to cultivate productive internal relationships, both within the Accounting Department and throughout the organization.
- Self-driven to achieve/exceed established goals.
- Reputation for integrity.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Advanced Excel skills. Proficient with other Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Experience with Visio or other similar process flow software a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, capable of managing changing priorities and requests.
- CPA preferred.

- We are located at 75th Avenue, just south of the I-10
- This is an in person / on site role. We are not offering remote work at this time
- This is a full-time, salaried position. Pay will be DOE.
