The Fund Accounting Manager will be responsible for all accounting operations for assigned funds.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for closing and reporting to Investors on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Deal Team, Treasury, Investor Relations and Property personnel to ensure comprehensive accounting for assigned Funds.
- Maintain and review the general ledger for multiple fund entities.
- Monitor cash balances and review weekly and monthly bank statement reconciliations.
- Prepare and review quarterly financial reporting packages.
- Manage the quarterly close process including preparation and review of journal entries.
- Prepare and review quarterly/annual financial statements, quarterly capital statements, distribution and capital call notices, and quarterly work papers for internal review and quarterly reporting support.
- Calculate and review capital calls, distributions, and management fees.
- Perform IRR and waterfall calculations.
- Prepare and review all investor-level requests.
- Be a point of contact during annual audits ensuring prompt submission of supporting documentation and respond to inquiries as needed.
- Mentor and coach Fund accounting staff to maximize their performance and development.
- Prepare and review ad hoc financial analysis, projects, and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- 7+ years of fund accounting experience.
- Experience in the financial services and/or real estate industry.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Strong analytical and accounting skills.
- Advanced excel skills required.
- Investran experience a plus
- Working experience in the general ledger and financial statements.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
