General Description:
The Sr. Accounting Manager plays a critical role within the organization. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the financial stability and growth of a long-established family business in the dairy industry. The Sr. Accounting Manager is responsible for completing assigned duties to ensure customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. The Sr. Accounting Manager does this by supporting the company’s growth agenda, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, and providing proactive insights surrounding standardization and efficiencies The Sr. Accounting Manager also possesses the mindset to identify and successfully implement process improvements as the Byrne team is dedicated to elevating performance by leveraging our newly implemented Oracle ERP system. The ideal candidate will have a passion for detail, and be an innate problem solver with an inspiring leadership mindset. The Sr. Accounting Manager completes these functions in support of the manufacture of dairy-related products.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining a best-in-class Balance sheet reconciliation.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly balance sheet forecasts and annual balance sheet budgets.
- Identify and recommend improvements to existing processes and controls.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Support variance analysis in support of monthly financial review.
- Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements for multiple entities.
- Assist in managing cash flow, including forecasting and monitoring cash balances.
- Lead key projects for the accounting team to drive both efficiency and accuracy of results and reporting.
- Owner of company credit card program, policies, and procedures.
- Assist in supporting dairy-related regulatory reporting.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
- Adhoc Projects.
- Monitor the efficiency of accounting control procedures and adherence to the company’s internal control policies, providing insights and recommendations to management.
- Provide guidance and support to direct reports.
- On the generation, review, and adherence to financial policies.
- Responsible for achieving assigned goals in safety, quality, performance, and cost.
- Responsible for complying with GMPs, SOPs, corporate and/or plant policies, rules, and regulations.
- Works safely and reports safety concerns promptly to their leadership team and takes corrective actions as necessary to ensure a safe environment.
- Demonstrates strong communication skills across various departments, ensuring clear and effective collaboration.
- High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
Essential Knowledge, and Skills:
- Ability to apply basic to complex mathematical concepts such as adding, counting, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and knowledge of weights and measures, to sufficiently handle job tasks.
- Familiarity with office management procedures and general knowledge of office equipment and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.)
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities as well as attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Proven capability to work both independently and collaboratively, showcasing strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Understand and respond appropriately to basic to complex employee, vendor, and customer inquiries.
- Read, write, and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions (Other preferences will be given for special language skills when there is a business need.)
- Knowledge of the company's mission, purpose, goals, and your role in achieving each of them.
- Satisfactorily complete all company training requirements.
- Ability to interpret company documents and literature.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
- CPA or Equivalent experience required.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and financial statement work.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, advanced skills/knowledge of Excel.
- Experience with accounting and finance within an ERP environment is required, Oracle Cloud is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Performance Standards:
- Responsible for reporting to work at scheduled times and communicating tardiness and absences with the assigned Supervisor/Manager after the occurrence.
- Responsible for reporting to work in a condition to work.
- Responsible for being well-groomed and always dressed in business- and position-appropriate attire including ensuring compliance with GMP dress code standards.
- Comply with performance criteria, standards of conduct as contained in company policy, employment procedures, and responsibilities as described in the company handbook.
- Always maintain a safe work environment and immediately report and take appropriate action to correct safety/food safety concerns.
- Responsible for completing all assigned tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Work Schedule:
- Requires morning and afternoon availability with flexibility outside of normal business hours based on company needs.
- Requests to be scheduled off for a specific day require advance notification and approval by the Supervisor/Manager.
- Salaried: Generally scheduled for 40-45 hours; more hours may be required based on the needs of the business.
Environmental Concerns:
- May be subject to exposure to ingredients used in the manufacture of food products including allergens.
- May be subject to exposure to chemicals involved in the manufacture and sanitation of a food processing facility.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Support company sustainability initiatives and policies.
Physical Job Requirements:
- Ability to sit/stand for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting of office supplies and equipment (up to 20 pounds.)
- Frequent use of computers and other office equipment.
- Ability to move around the office to perform various tasks.
Work Location:

The wage range for this role considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Byrne, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $107,500.00 to $138,000.00.
