About the Role:
Axonius Federal Systems (wholly-owned subsidiary to Axonius focused on the public sector) is in search of a top tier Senior Manager, Accounting who is highly motivated to learn and grow within a fast-paced organization. This role will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting activities, the month-end close process, as well as identifying and driving project-based work to provide process efficiencies for the accounting processes. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, communicative, results driven team player with a solid working knowledge of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal controls. Additionally, this individual thrives on process improvement and enjoys working in a challenging, collaborative environment to support our continued growth and success. This is a fully remote role in the US reporting up to the Director of Finance.
Your daily responsibilities will be:
- Perform various GL month-end close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for activities in Cash and Investments, T&E Expense, Prepaids, Fixed Assets and Expense Accruals and other tasks as assigned
- Manage the recognition and recording of revenue according to accounting standards and company policies. Monitor and analyze deals and ensure accurate invoicing
- Oversee payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payment of salaries, wages, and commissions
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close tasks as required
- Prepare and review Balance Sheet and P&L fluctuation analyses and ability to dive into the details to further investigate any variances
- Assist in preparing internal financial reporting schedules
- Partner cross-functionally with HR, IT and various business partners to establish best practices, and evaluate process and system infrastructure, along with identifying and implementing automation and process improvement opportunities
- Maintain and enhance the internal controls over accounting processes and systems
- Provide a high level of customer service with finance and non-finance business partners by providing timely responses, financial insights and relevant reporting
- Support the quarterly reviews and annual audit requests and inquiries from our external auditors
- Own and maintain various desktop procedures and ensure the observation of global accounting policies
- Ad hoc accounting projects and requests, as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Accounting or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of accounting experience in industry or public accounting
- Hands on experience with supporting US Corporate Headquarters
- Solid working knowledge and application of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX/internal controls
- Ability to work in a dynamic setting while maintaining accuracy and delivering against deadlines
- Strong problem solving, analytical, and organization skills
- Ability to execute, follow-up, and ensure attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills
- A team player, adept at building relationships across the organization
- Proficient with Google Workspace (Gmail, Sheets, Docs) and Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
