About the Position As the Accounting Manager for the Initialization team, you will play a vital role in leading a talented group of accountants while collaborating with key stakeholders across the organization. Your strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills will help you to drive the team’s success and enhance the client experience in a positive and impactful way.
What is the Initialization team?
The Initialization team operates between Onboarding and Maintenance Bookkeeping in the customer journey at Uplinq. Their primary responsibility is to deliver initial value to clients quickly by completing historical catch-up and clean-up tasks, as well as creating standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the Maintenance Bookkeeping team.
Responsibilities
- Support the team in preparing and distributing financial statements to clients, taking ownership of the process to ensure successful client outcomes. This hands-on work will make up approximately 50% of your responsibilities.
- Catch up and Clean up Bookkeeping on accounts.
- Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) to help the Maintenance Bookkeeping team enhance core bookkeeping data with additional financial information, such as payroll and point-of-sale (POS) data.
- Oversee the Initialization team members to assess project status and ensure timely progress of companies within the department.
- Lead the Initialization team to improve operational process to ensure that clients have a swift and valuable initial bookkeeping experience.
- Measure and monitor departmental metrics and KPIs, ensuring the team’s output aligns with company growth goals.
- Develop team talent, streamline processes, and collaborate with the hiring team to recruit new accountants.
- Work closely with the Onboarding team to ensure a seamless handoff of companies to the Initialization team with all core requirements fulfilled.
- Provide feedback and collaborate to address new challenges in both the Onboarding and Initialization phases.
- Collaborate with the Tax and Maintenance Bookkeeping teams to ensure alignment on bookkeeping processes that support their departments’ success.
- Work alongside the Sales team to define clear customer expectations and create tailored playbooks for diverse business needs.
- Collaborate with the Engineering team to brainstorm and test innovative internal app features designed for the Initialization department.
Qualifications
- CPA is required
- 5-7 Years experience in Accounting
- QuickBooks Online and Excel Experience
- Proven experience in leading and mentoring team members.
- Experience working with Tax professional and compliance or strategy purposes
