Gensco currently has a great opportunity available for a Claims Specialist to join our Accounting team at our corporate offices in Tacoma, WA!

Schedule - Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm 
Full Time - starting pay range $22-28 per hour based on experience

Summary

  • Assist with processing warranty and marketing claims to ensure accurate collection and billing is completed in the most efficient manner.
  • Assist AR team with cash applications to ensure accurate billing, collecting and posting of cash receipts in the most efficient manner.
  • Ensure timely collection of claims submitted by monitoring and resolving discrepancies.

Duties and Responsibilities
Warranty Claims:
  • Assist with processing customer warranty submissions according to manufacturer-specified guidelines.
  • Submit claims timely and accurately.
    • Process credit card refunds for completed warranties.
  • Maintain positive and productive relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to streamline the processing of warranty claims and establish an effective process for resubmission when errors are discovered.
  • Keep accurate records of supplier warranty guidelines and ensure all stakeholders are notified when warranty guidelines are modified.
Marketing and Sales Promo Claims:
  • Prepare invoices and credits to Customers for approved claims.
    • Marketing Rebates and Promotional Programs
    • Sales-Driven Programs
  • Prepare and submit Debit Memo to vendors for co-op and other cost sharing arrangements.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team on gathered program data for Utility Rebate Programs.
  • Assist and support with monitoring of funds owed by partner Utility companies and administer payouts to participating customers.
  • Assist with auditing Dealer claim documentation provided for eligibility and correct coding.
Accounts Receivable:
  • Assist with customer credit card payments.
  • Assist AR team with payment application, promptly and properly applying each payment to customer’s account and follow up on application exceptions.

Education/Experience/Skills:
  • High school diploma required
  • AA degree preferred
  • Functional knowledge of accounting processes and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to manage details and meet deadlines with 100% accuracy in a multi-task environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), particularly Excel
  • Customer service-oriented approach, respond to requests with a sense of urgency
  • Proactive, self-motivated, able to recognize issues and resolve or escalate appropriately
  • Strong people skills, recognize when to use formal or informal approach, not easily intimidated, accessible, ability to say “no” in a firm but polite manner
