1. Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices, verify expense coding, and manage timely payments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
- Accounts Receivable: Prepare and send client invoices, track payments, and manage collections. Work closely with clients and internal teams to resolve any discrepancies.
- Perform weekly and monthly reconciliations for accounts receivable and payable balances.
2. General Ledger and Reconciliations
- Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate documentation and coding for various accounts.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring account accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
3. Month-End and Year-End Close
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including preparing and reviewing financial reports and statements.
- Assist in producing variance analyses and financial summaries for management.
- Ensure adherence to reporting deadlines and accuracy of financial data.
4. Financial Reporting and Compliance
- Assist in preparing periodic financial reports for management review.
- Help ensure compliance with GAAP standards and internal accounting policies.
- Support external audit preparations by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
5. Process Improvement and Support
- Identify areas for improvement in accounting processes, recommending and implementing efficiencies where possible.
- Collaborate with team members on special projects, reporting, and ad hoc analyses as needed.
- Act as a key resource for junior accounting staff, providing support and guidance.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of accounting experience, with a strong foundation in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations. Industry experience in travel, hospitality, or entertainment is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP systems is advantageous. Knowledge of Salesforce is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
