The Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in in managing the accounting operations and providing decision support to the leadership team. This role will develop monthly financial statements, implement, and maintain monthly plant financial reviews and develop and report key performance indicators that help manage the business. In addition, this position is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial statements by evaluating both financial and operating controls and implementing improvements and ensuring compliance. Reports to Director, Finance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation of balance sheets, analysis of financial and income statements.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Create journal entries and performing complex reconciliations for balance sheet accounts like inventory, inventory obsolescence, and accrued expenses.
  • Collaborate with site Managers to enhance profitability by identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimizing business operations.
  • Assist in the development and management of annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Analyze financial data to provide actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.
  • Review and assess variances between actual financial results and budgeted targets, and offer recommendations for improvements.
  • Prepare financial data for audits and liaise with external auditors to ensure a smooth audit process.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles (U.S. GAAP) and SOX requirements, working closely with the corporate accounting team on key issues.
  • Lead initiatives to improve processes within the finance department to boost efficiency and accuracy.
  • Partner with Managers to ensure accurate and timely processing of material transactions and cycle counting process.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of financial reporting systems and processes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience as an Accounting Manager, Cost Accountant or Senior Accounant experience with a manufacturer.
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related.
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP principles.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
