Job Description
KP Aviation, an international supplier and procurer of aftermarket aviation components and assets, is searching for the next key member of our team! The Accounting Manager is critical to the Accounting/Finance department, due to significant oversight of overall accounting processes and the accuracy of work of others within the department. The position performs in-depth analytics, financial reporting, and asset accounting to ensure accuracy. The position is responsible for maintaining financial records, performing journal entries, assisting with periodic close and budgeting processes, conducting internal audits, compiling reports, and maintaining documentation related to compliance and audits.
Your role will take you to new heights, as you’ll be tasked with these essential job responsibilities:
- Reviews and maintains financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
- Oversees account analysis and reconciliation, including bank statements and intercompany general ledger accounts with the help of Senior Accountants.
- Oversees and performs general accounting functions related to monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
- Serves as the main point of contact and is responsible for all international business treasury functions.
- Manages Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, ensuring timely invoice processing and collection of receivables.
- Monitors outstanding balances and works with customers and vendors to resolve payment issues, disputes, or discrepancies.
- Ensures accurate reporting of Accounts Receivable aging, and actively follows up on overdue accounts to improve cash flow.
- Ensures proper functioning of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit Insurance, and purchasing processes.
- Performs monthly balance sheet reconciliations and makes adjusting journal entries.
- Performs monthly analytical reviews of financial statements and recommends improvements or adjustments, as needed.
- Calculates and records accruals, in addition to reconciling actuals for internal accounts, including taxes.
- Participates in inter-department and ad-hoc projects on behalf of the Accounting/Finance department.
- Responds to information requests, reviews financial statements, and assists with audits.
- Ensures compliance with internal controls, company procedures, and GAAP.
- Conducts internal audits and internal control evaluations, as well as supportive in external financial audits and inventory appraisals.
- Demonstrates resourcefulness, skill to independently manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
- Maintains confidentiality and a high level of professionalism throughout all aspects and responsibilities.
- Provides accurate and timely information to customers and internal parties.
- Responds to phone calls and emails in a timely manner.
- Communicates with customers and representatives of internal departments in a professional manner.
- Establishes, develops and maintains long-lasting customer relationships.
- Participates in the development of organizational and operational excellence by upholding company policies and procedures as well as demonstrating a level of professionalism and communication consistent with the expectations of the position.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to have:
- Strong Knowledge and Ability to apply accounting principles, procedures and methods
- Knowledge of general ledger posting processes and general accounting transactions
- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepting Accounting Principles)
- Knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Office applications and general computer literacy
- Strong skills in presenting information and effective communication
- Skill in verbal and written communication
- Skill in problem solving, numeracy, and decision making/analysis
- Skill in analyzing data and modifying reporting procedures to ensure accuracy and transparency
- Ability to lead others, while effectively managing the workload of multiple individuals in the department
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all company matters; communicate with tact and good judgment within scope of position
- Ability to be polite, considerate, and an effective communicator in stressful situations

- Ability to read, write and speak Spanish preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Minimum of seven to ten years of related accounting experience required
- CPA or MBA certification preferred
- Progressive experience in accounting and supervising others preferred
- Experience working in a multilevel/multiple entity company preferred
- Experience working within Sage Intacct, Salesforce, AvSight, or Microsoft Office 365 preferred
- Aviation experience a plus!
