Les S Kushner PA is hiring: Tax Accounting Senior Associate in Plantation

Les S. Kushner, P.A. is looking for a CPA to join our accounting and law practice. The ideal candidate is either looking for work/life balance and needs a flexible or even reduced schedule for 10 months out of the year but can work (reasonable) tax season hours OR is looking to develop a tax practice and desires to bring in additional business for which they would be compensated.

Responsibilities Include:

• Prepare and primarily review individual, corporate, partnership, foundation, trust, and estate tax returns
• Prepare financial statements (compilations)
• Perform tax planning for individuals and small businesses
• Work closely with tax and accounting staff
• Review of tax and accounting work of staff
• Prepare/Review payroll and sales tax returns
• Work and communicate effectively with our professional team
• Be able to research and apply, from our various available resources, solutions to our clients in the areas of taxation and IRS notices and correspondence while working with our tax team. Create and work with various IRS, Florida Department of Revenue and other governmental correspondence
• Work directly with clients via phone, email and in person
• Be friendly, professional and courteous with clients
• A willingness to learn different software systems as well as tax and accounting client service processes and systems in an ongoing effort to become continuously more efficient and competitive within the industry

Qualifications Include:

• An active CPA license (Florida), or completion of license within one year - preferred
• Minimum 3+ years of experience working in tax preparation and tax related issues
• Solid understanding of accounting principles
• Experience with ProSeries tax software a plus
• Experience with QuickBooks preferred
• Proficient in Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word programs
