We are searching for a personable and enthusiastic accounting assistant who is flexible and committed to working hard. This position requires the ability to anticipate needs, think critically and offer solutions to problems with a high level of professionalism to support the accounting and leadership department. While the majority of the work is remote, the candidate must live close to Santa Clarita, CA.

Job Duties:

  • Provide support to the accounting and payroll departments.

  • Post bank and credit card statements, match with receipts.

  • Email and Calendar Management.

  • Posting of invoices and bills, processing transactions, updating ledgers.

  • Payroll experience, ideally with ADP and Paychex and knowledge of payroll taxes and process.

  • Conduct internet research, compile, review, and summarize various types of reports, spreadsheets, and documents. Maintain a variety of files and records. Prepare reports by collecting and analyzing information.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and projects.

  • Check spreadsheets. timesheets and payroll documents for accuracy.

  • Assist team with preparation of invoices, QB reports, emails and projects.

  • Create invoices for clients, maintain digital filing system, requesting W-9's from vendors.

  • Work with multiple clients and internal teams to complete tasks.

Requirements:

  • Has over 3 years of relevant experience as an assistant (preferably in a virtual environment but not required)

  • Always thinking 5 steps ahead + takes initiative

  • Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors

  • Professional manner and a strong ethical code.

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Asana, Slack, Microsoft Office, with exceptional knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint and Google Drive/Docs/Sheets

  • Able to work independently problem-solve in new situations

  • Enjoys problem solving

  • Accuracy and attention to details

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong follow-up skills

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Computer and tech savvy

  • Maintain a professional demeanor with co-workers and clients

  • A basic understanding of accounting and tax rules is preferred but not required

  • Associate’s degree, preferably in accounting or finance, and/or appropriate balance of education and work experience
