In this dynamic role, you will lead and manage the day to day Finance and Accounting operations for Samsonites US Wholesale (USW) business with a focus on short and medium term financial metrics and profitability. This role collaborates closely with the North America DTC Finance team as well as key functional stakeholders across the enterprise in Sales, Distribution, Marketing, Design, HR, etc. Qualified candidates should have strong skills in, accounting, analysis, problem solving, reporting, collaboration, communication and leadership.

ACCOUNTING


Provide on-going monthly, quarterly, and full year P&L, Working Capital, and CAPX forecasts.


Evaluate/Report margins by customer and Brand


Coordinate the monthly close and reporting process for the USW business.


Align roles and responsibilities of USW team for successful monthly close and reporting.


Provide leadership, direction and coaching to Sr. Accountant to assist in financial analysis, research, reporting and special project as needed


Prepare and approve journal entries and reconciliations as appropriate


Prepare/Review monthly financial statements and month-end reporting packages & analyze and evaluate monthly actual to budget variances


Monitor expenses and partner with business partners to improve cost efficiencies


Assist with any technical accounting issues that arise


Evaluate existing accounting processes and procedures for efficiency to simplify and automate


Review, evaluate, and implement internal controls processes to ensure compliance with SOX 404 requirements


Partner with internal and external auditors on compliance as well as interim, and year-end engagements.


Effectively partner with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives, drive process improvements, implement best practices and help drive profitability.


Drive leadership and collaboration with regards to hiring decisions and performance management

FP&A


Drive the USW annual budget process for revenue and expense plans interacting with all department heads, senior management, and global finance as required.


Provide ad-hoc reporting and manage special projects utilizing Power BI and similar reporting platforms.


Identify and facilitate IT requirements to ensure accurate and efficient technical processes


Collaborate with NA FP&A to load budgets and forecasts into applicable software such as Hyperion and Essbase


Partner with DTC Finance team on budgeting/forecasting of allocated shared service costs


5+ years working in Finance and/or Accounting


Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting


Knowledge of Wholesale, Retail Store, and eCommerce business models


Strong accounting and analytical skills


High level of experience working in MS Excel, Power BI/Query, databases, and financial software applications.


Understanding of US GAAP, IFRS, Sarbanes Oxley and compliance


Ability to successfully manage tight deadlines


Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication, problem-solving and time management skills with sharp attention to detail

Preferred Skills & Industry Experience


MBA in Finance or Accounting


CPA/CMA Certification


Experience working in the consumer products industry


Experience with SAP, Hyperion HFM/Planning
