Trout CPA is accepting applications for Summer 2025 Accounting Internship openings at our Lancaster and Mechanicsburg, PA offices.


Interns at Trout CPA will begin to utilize their educational background as well as their organizational skills as they serve the firm's dynamic client base. Interns will assist in problem solving and fact-finding, working side-by-side with more experienced team members who can provide them with direction, coaching, and learning opportunities. This opportunity will allow interns to gain a unique hands-on perspective on our firm's practices and people, as well as beginning to forge the critical relationships that will help maximize their chance for success in the accounting field.

On a day-to-day basis, a summer intern at Trout CPA will:

  • Gain hands-on experience in audit and tax engagements
  • Participate in technical training and development needed to contribute to client engagements
  • Experience on-the-job training through real client engagements showing how your academic experience translates to Trout's professional environment
  • Learn directly from fellow employees such as seniors, managers, and partners with specialized experience and knowledge across multiple industries and services
  • Build friendships and strong work relationships while gaining valuable experience
  • Assist with research and other projects
  • Demonstrate your performance and ability to join Trout CPA as a full-time team member after graduation
Requirements:

Successful candidates will:

  • Be enrolled as a student during the current school year in an bachelors or masters level Accounting program with three or more years of education at the time of their internship
  • Be on track to obtain 150 credits and sit for the CPA exam
  • Be able to work a minimum of 32 hours per week for the duration of the internship (Early-June through Late-July)
  • Have outstanding academic performance including a GPA of 3.4 or above
  • Have relevant internship, work experience and/or involvement with a professional organization
  • Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Have the ability to work effectively in a team environment with all levels of the firm
  • Have great analytical skills, initiative, and adaptability
