Summary of Position

 

The Financial and Accounting Analyst is responsible for providing financial insights and analysis to support business decision-making. This role involves preparing financial reports, analyzing financial data, and ensuring accurate financial records. The analyst will work closely with various departments to monitor budgets, forecast financial performance, and assist in strategic planning.

Essential Functions

 

  • Prepare financial reports related to treasury activities, including cash position, liquidity forecasts, and investment performance 
  • Develop financial models and perform variance analysis to improve business decisions. 
  • Analyze financial performance against key business metrics and develop financial highlights to articulate progress against objectives. 
  • Works with the third-party accounting to resolve any accounting related issues in a timely manner   
  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations. 
  • Assist in month end and year end closing processes 
  • Lead the preparation of compelling month end financial reporting packages. 
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial records 
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed. 
  • Partner with business leadership to develop short- and long-range forecasts. 
      • Identify trends and insightful analysis of financial results. 
      • Report on key performance indicators, including developing dashboards to support efficient and effective monitoring. 
      • Collaborate with sales, marketing and other departments to gather and analyze financial data.  
      • Play a critical role in optimizing the use of business intelligence tools companywide. 
      • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the FP&A function as well as eliminate non-value-added work.

      Qualifications

       

      Education/Certification: Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field

       

      Required Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial modeling. Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

       

      Experience Required: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting, financial planning and analysis, or related field

       

      Skills/Abilities: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.
