Essential Job Functions:
- Applies the concepts, principles, practices, laws, and regulations of accounting, budgeting, and financing. Analyzes and compares accounting transactions to stated policies and its impact CWMD and DHS Financial Statement.
Skills:
- Mastery of, and skill in applying, the concepts, principles, practices, laws, and regulations of accounting, budgeting, and financing.
- High degree of skill in analyzing and comparing accounting transactions to stated policies and its impact CWMD and DHS Financial Statement.
- Comprehensive and detailed knowledge and understanding of governing accounting policies, financial processes, budget forecasts, internal control assessments, conduct verification and validation as needed on transactions and balances to support analytical research, and financial objectives.
- Knowledge of analytical processes that is appropriate for conducting cost-benefit analysis, property accounting, depreciation, and construction-in-process analysis, and identify trends in the use of funds.
- Strong analytical and policy analysis background.
- Excellent communication, written, and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task and respond to quick turn-around requests.
- Superior skills with Microsoft Office programs (Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (minimum); Master’s degree (preferred)
- 12 years of accounting experience.
- Must Qualify for DHS Public Trust Security Clearance
- Must be residing in the Washington D.C. area due to periodic meetings to attend.
