BIG PICTURE:
We are seeking a hands-on Finance and Accounting leader to manage all aspects of Dhar Mann Studios, LiveGlam and other sister companies finances and accounting. Responsibilities include overseeing accounting, preparing financial reports, reviewing expenses, and establishing and tracking budgeting and forecasting. The ideal candidate will be someone who can balance strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to financial management. This individual must have expert-level knowledge of Quickbooks Online. The ideal candidate is extremely organized, possesses exceptional mathematical skills, and has meticulous attention to detail.
HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME:
- Manage all aspects of the accounting and finance operations, including, all transactions related to general ledger, receivables (billings & collections), payables, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
- Own the P&Ls providing controllership and data-driven recommendations. Collaborate closely with senior leaders on day-to-day activities to drive growth and profitability.
- Provide decision support and analytical rigor to drive business growth. Develop new reporting tools and enhance existing capabilities for effective daily business management. Identify, build, and maintain core business KPIs that drive financial performance of the business.
- Prepare annual operating budget, quarterly re-forecasts, and work with department heads to determine necessary forecast adjustments and budget needs. Develop robust and scalable forecasting tools to support quarterly, annual, and long-range planning cycles.
- Execute the month end accounting close. This includes updating financial models, investigating & reporting budget variances, and creating journal entries.
- Manage AR & AP, including setting up vendors and processing/approving invoice payments. Developing, implementing, and maintaining systems, procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines. Maintaining all vendor records, including contracts and W9s.
- Monitoring payroll records for inconsistencies and providing guidance for the correction process to appropriate Finance and HR team members
- Setting cost control systems including: auditing vendor invoices to ensure accuracy and disputing any discrepancies; monitoring company spending for adherence to budget; reviewing employee expense/reimbursement reports to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Preparing Sales and Tax returns for City, County, and State
WHAT YOU HAVE:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting and/or FP&A
- 3+ years of experience using QuickBooks Online or similar
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; CPA strongly preferred
- Experience working in the media space and familiarity with cable, production, OTT revenue and ad models is strongly preferred.
- Experience working in a startup environment is a requirement
- Proficiency in managing large data sets and various reporting tools that can scale
- Sense of urgency and ability to adapt and problem solve while effectively meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality deliverables
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Attention to detail and a great communicator across all levels of management
