Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage plant inventory, ensuring accuracy and compliance with corporate accounting operations.
- Partner with Operations and Purchasing teams to set and analyze standard costs, influencing decision-making at the highest levels.
- Execute detailed cost-volume-profit (CVP) analyses to guide strategic business decisions.
- Lead the calculation and analysis of resin-related rebates and credits, providing monthly usage insights.
- Perform thorough inventory reconciliations, valuations, and maintain inventory reserves.
- Spearhead initiatives to optimize processes, reduce costs, and maximize profit margins.
- Own the capitalized variance calculation and intercompany margin elimination processes.
- Lead the annual physical inventory, develop and implement a robust cycle count process, and report on inventory adjustments.
- Ensure accuracy in item master data, focusing on consistency in critical fields.
- Conduct in-depth pricing and margin reviews to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor inventory transactions, proactively addressing errors in unit of measure, costing, and transaction types.
- Play a critical role in business acquisitions, focusing on standard costs, bill of materials, and routings integration.
- Review purchase price variances (PPV) and collaborate with departments to resolve valuation issues.
- Manage month-end close duties, including accrual calculations, overhead burden rate assessments, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Develop gross margin reports to identify and correct item costing deficiencies, ensuring accurate inventory valuations.
- Support annual financial and interim audits, ensuring compliance and accuracy in reporting.
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of internal controls, ensuring they meet company and regulatory standards.
- Participate in system enhancements and integration projects across the organization.
- Respond to internal and external stakeholder inquiries, providing detailed financial data and ad hoc reports.
- Maintain the highest standards of privacy, confidentiality, and compliance with federal, state, and local laws and company policies.
- What You Bring:
- Education & Experience: Bachelors degree in Accounting with 3+ years of progressive experience in general ledger, reporting, costing, or public accounting.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and ERP systems; advanced understanding of standard costs in a manufacturing environment.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset, able to work effectively across departments.
- Independence & Initiative: Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
