Who You Are

The Director of Cost Accounting supports Café Valley by strategically managing the accurate capture, reporting, and analysis of production costs, as well as ensuring the integrity of financial data related to product costing, manufacturing variances, and inventory valuation. Responsibilities

What You Will Do

  • Lead Cost Accountants in achieving goals and objectives through day-to-day coordination of departmental functions
  • Lead daily oversight of production jobs and cost variance analysis
  • Ensure the accuracy of all Items/BOMs in the ERP system through regular audits
  • Conduct regular meetings with department managers to review production costs and ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Prepare and distribute the Management Dashboard to the executive leadership team on a weekly basis
  • Direct month-end close activities related to COGS and inventory, including entries and analysis
  • Present financial information at operations management meetings and provide insights to support decision-making
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of the ERP system through analysis and collaboration with inventory control and production teams
  • Conduct detailed cost analysis related to inventory, labor, and operational expenses, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements
  • Engage in operational cost-saving projects by spending time on the production floor across multiple plants
  • Ensure all costing data used by the commercial pricing team is reviewed and accurately presented
  • Research and resolve complex transactions to ensure proper financial reporting
  • Assist the VP of FP&A during the budgeting/forecasting process
  • Perform all related duties as required; related duties may not be specifically listed but are within the general occupational responsibility level typically associated with the employee’s classification of work
Required Skills

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Ability to work with or around food allergens of all types
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field; MBA or CMA certification preferred
  • At least 7 years of progressive cost accounting experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience with relational databases and strong knowledge of cost accounting methodologies
  • Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems and exposure to SQL and Microsoft BI
  • Travel up to 25%
