We are looking for a Head of Revenue Accounting and Operations who will work closely across multiple teams within the company to address technical accounting and operational matters with a sole focus on revenue accounting in the application of U.S. GAAP. This role is accountable for building the Quote to Cash/Revenue process.
What You’ll Do:
- Communicate and coordinate with internal teams (Sales, Product Engineering, Revenue Operations, and Billing); lead process improvement and system implementation projects amongst the cross-functional teams, primarily related to the Quote to Cash/Revenue cycle.
- Lead revenue accounting operations to ensure timely and accurate accounting of monthly close and reporting. Work closely with the company's external auditors to support financial audits.
- Develop and implement revenue recognition policies and procedures, and stay up to date with revenue standards to ensure best practices within our industry.
- Oversee contract review to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with US GAAP and lead the preparation of accounting memos supporting revenue positions.
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting operations in the area of responsibility.
- Develop and maintain internal controls for revenue recognition and lead continuous review and improvement of revenue systems and business processes.
- Maintain compliance with indirect sales and use tax.
About You:
- 10+ years of leadership experience with revenue accounting and reporting, system implementations, process improvement, and internal controls/SOX, including experience working in a publicly traded Software Company.
- In-depth knowledge of Revenue Recognition standards (ASC 606) is required.
- Big-4 experience will be a strong plus.
- CPA is a strong plus.
- Hands-on exposure to quote to cash systems, Salesforce, and NetSuite, preferred.
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills accompanied by verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment with excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to think outside the box, comfortable with ambiguity, and provide suggestions and guidance in addition to having strong technical knowledge on revenue recognition.
- Flexibility and willingness to pivot to new priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

This role is based in the greater San Francisco Bay Area, and the role ranges from $175,000-$245,000. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
