Follow Shad on LinkedIn and in the search bar type #chalkboardtalk for videos on his open roles.  Shad and his team is working with a West Houston Upstream Client that is staffing a key role working for the Controller as a Director of Accounting and Analysis.  Snapshot of role is our client is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated individual for the role of Director of Accounting and Internal Reporting. The role entails directing general accounting and internal reporting activities for Company. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate and timely monthly closes and reporting of the company's operating and financial results to our headquarters located in Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leading the team in charge of monthly variance analysis preparation.
2. Working closely with operations to develop high-quality communication of actual results and forecasts.
3. Managing three direct reports, including General Accounting, Financial Reporting/Property, and Budget/AFE/Special Projects.

Skills and Requirements:

1. Highly organized, proactive, and a self-starter.
2. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
3. Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
4. Extensive knowledge in general accounting and internal reporting.
5. Able to work under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.
6. Proficient in the use of accounting tools and software.

• Upstream Oil and Gas experience a must Other industries will not be considered for this role
• 8 plus years accounting experience from exploration and production accounting experience
