Director of Finance And Accounting Job at Hoxton Circle in New York

I'm partnering with a mid-size law firm headquartered in NYC to find them a Director, Finance & Accounting to lead the function at the firm.

This is a leadership role, where you'd report directly to the two partners and oversee a team of 3-4. The firm has offices across the country and is growing. They are the perfect size to make an impact (big enough to lack risk and have resources, but small enough where you're not going to be just a cog in the wheel and actually have a seat at the table).

Differentiators:

• The firm doesn't have a CFO, and doesn't intend to hire one - this role will be the most senior Finance employee and get to drive all decision making, systems, and growth. A year or two down the line, a promotion/title change to CFO is there for the taking.
• One of the major selling points of this role is the two partners who built the firm. I know them both personally, and they are truly awesome!! They're entrepreneurial, whip smart, have a great sense of humor, and will always go to bat for you.
• They aren't old school, they are open to updating and automating their finance/accounting systems for the better - you won't be frustrated with a lack of resources (they have a sizable budget set aside for new tech, adds to headcount, etc.)
• The firm represents people, not corporations - you'd be working for the good guys and contributing to a firm that actually makes a difference for people who need it.

The Role:

• Manage/build a team
• Budgeting & forecasting, financial reporting, month end& year end, cash flow management
• Internal controls, variance analysis, etc.
• Work cross functionally to drive strategic decision making

You Have:

• 5-15 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance
• Experience working at a law firm is preferred but not required
• CPA is preferred but not required

Compensation:

• $170k - $200k base salary + cash bonus
