Firefighters & Company Federal Credit Union, located in Dayton, OH is seeking a Finance/Accounting Associate to join our team. This position is responsible for the continued development and implementation of accounting practices that result in providing a comprehensive accounting system and support functions. Is involved in all accounting functions of the credit union. In addition, the candidate will be involved in the performance of ACH and Share draft functions and maintaining compliance.

Position is responsible for internal accounting operations, including but not limited to: Preparing and monitoring all credit union financial ratios for liquidity, safety and soundness, credit quality, etc. Responsible for the maintenance of the general ledger. Ensures timely and accurate balancing and reconciliation of all general ledger accounts, and other important records in a timely fashion. Prepares financial reports accurately and in accordance with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and guidelines.

 

Requirements

Establish, coordinate, and maintain the accounting system which properly reflects the financial position of the credit union.

Aid the CFO in providing timely and accurate analysis of financial reports, budgets, and financial trends

to assist the CEO and Board of Directors.

Perform ACH and Share Draft transactions including returns and adjustments.

Aid in the development and monitoring of reliable cash flow projection process and reporting.

 

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

Two years of related experience, preferably within a credit union or bank.

Previous experience with ACH and Share Draft transactions preferred.

Excellent Analytical skills, people skills, and self-direction.

Proficiency with PC accounting, spreadsheets, and related software.

Background in financial data processing systems preferred.
