We’d like to welcome an Accounting Specialist I who will have the primary responsibility of performing accounting, administrative, and operational tasks in an accurate and timely manner, while acting as the primary front office posting teller for the accounting department. The Accounting Specialist will have excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for service, with responsibilities including, but not limited to, member services, accounts payable, and dealer settlements and buy backs. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess a desire for continued learning and growth within the accounting field.
JOB REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITES
- Assists with the daily balancing of the branches and credit union including preparation of the daily deposit.
- Balances Member Trailer Totals to the GL every day; creates and enters data into Prologue GL system as needed.
- Process incoming and outgoing wire requests from Members on a daily basis.
- Acts as the front office posting teller for the accounting department for member inquires, and employee requests.
- Primary backup for other Accounting Specialists for Member returns, ATM hot card requests, and levies.
- Researches member accounts when disputes arise and answers member inquiries accurately and timely.
- Primary responsibility for the daily balancing of credit union checks and submits file to FMB daily.
- Posting closed account activity to ChexSystems and the in-house BBB Charge Off system, NSF returns, and Levies.
- Maintains accurate and timely filing of checks and other accounting data.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREREQUISITES
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of college level accounting courses or equivalent accounting experience, preferably in a financial institution.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word.
- Must be accurate, organized, and efficient.
- Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work cooperatively with all levels of management, staff, members and vendors.
- Attention to detail a must.

PAY RANGE
In accordance with California’s Pay Transparency Act (SB 1162), the expected salary range for this position is between:
$21.04 - $31.12
Actual pay will be determined based on a candidate’s specific qualifications, including their knowledge, skills, education and experience, internal equity consideration, as well as other job-related factors permitted by law.
