Job Description
SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the Vice President, Strategy & Impact, the Senior Executive Coordinator will work with members of the Executive Office to ensure the Executive Leadership Team and the Board of Directors have the required information and resources to develop and track progress toward organizational goals and objectives, as articulated in USA for UNHCR’s Strategic Plan, 2025-2030.
This role requires a self-starter who can work in a fast-paced and demanding environment. The work of an Executive Office requires discretion, confidentiality, sound judgment, diplomacy, the ability to multi-task, interest in supporting multiple senior executives and, most importantly, a passion for the mission and a desire to support the critical work of our “mother agency”, UNHCR.
You are a quick thinker and comfortable being a decision maker; someone who can see the big picture (we are the Executive Office after all!) and think strategically but also ensure that multiple stakeholders are informed, consulted, and/or included.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports the Executive Director and Vice President, Strategy & Impact's varied obligations with senior USA for UNHCR leadership, staff, and external clients by providing logistical, project and administrative support as needed, including but not limited to research, presentation preparation, board and committee coordination, travel logistics, event coordination and tactical organization of meetings, special events, and scheduling.
- Manages the CEO’s calendar and activities to ensure high value time utilization of the CEO in relationship to external and internal requirements. Briefs/updates the CEO on upcoming meetings and ongoing obligations. Requires exceptional detail orientation, compassion and confidentiality
- Serves as the Executive Office’s secretary in all strategic planning meetings and related activities. Requires precision and big picture—simultaneously.
- Attends Board of Directors meetings, takes minutes, prepares various materials for board and committee meetings; works with the CEO and senior management team to prepare materials for board reports, and assists in ongoing activities with the Board of Directors.
- Performs duties such as financial record keeping, Executive Office management and other projects as directed by Executive Director.
- Collaborates with CEO to foster a success-oriented, positive, high integrity organizational culture.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- 6-8 years of related experience; each year of work experience may be substituted for each year of education required; Bachelor’s degree preferred

WORK LOCATION
Hybrid + Washington, DC + May also involve travel to some locations within the company’s region of operations and select donor locations.
COMPENSATION
$94,717 - $103,328
