You will join the Greater Boston office and be part of our North America Advanced Industries Capabilities & Insights (Research) team. As a member of the Advanced Industries Practice, you are part of a team consisting of over 60 experts. The team operates in various locations worldwide, including the United States, Germany, and China. We are part of McKinsey's global Client Capabilities Network (CCN) with more than 3,500 colleagues who support our consulting teams and clients with targeted expertise and industry analysis. In this role you have the opportunity to focus on topics within the Advanced Industries - Semiconductor area. This includes supporting consulting teams and clients in all areas of the semiconductor value chain, such as: manufacturers of capital goods, fabless companies, manufacturers of integrated components, foundry companies, and neighboring players. Your impact within our firm
As part of the Greater Boston office and Advanced Industries Capabilities & Insights team, you will support our consulting teams and clients with your expertise in the semiconductor industry. You will analyze current market developments, competition, corporate strategies, and technology trends to make a significant contribution to the success of our client projects. The results of your analyses and your expertise will flow directly into the documents for our clients - be it in the form of quantitative analyses, reports/memos or presentations. In addition to working with consulting teams and clients, you can also expect an exciting environment to continuously develop your knowledge and skills in the field of semiconductors. Together with our research teams around the world, you will analyze new topics and trends and integrate them into our existing knowledge infrastructure (e.g. databases, benchmarks). You also have the opportunity to support our numerous publications on current trends and challenges in the semiconductor industry with your analyses. You can expect extensive coaching and further development opportunities. In addition to mentoring from experienced colleagues, you will regularly take part in high-quality internal training. Your qualifications and skills
Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or related fields Advanced degree, MSc, MBA or equivalent either in Engineering / Economics and similar is a plus 1+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry, market research, and/or corporate strategy Good perspective on the semiconductor industry including a strong understanding of trends and recent developments Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and deliver independently on tight timelines Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization Skills to communicate complex ideas effectively Demonstrated problem solving capability Please review the additional requirements regarding essential job functions of McKinsey colleagues.
