User Experience Manager (UX/UI Designer)
implements technical UX solutions to meet business and marketing objectives. Manages the study and evaluation of the user perception of the system (i.e., look, ease of use, utility, performance, etc.); translates user needs and business requirements to technology teams. Collaborates with management to identify opportunities to streamline processes and develop new procedures that support the business unit/department. Responsibilities
Leads matrixed team responsible for meeting the digital membership dashboard goals. Acts as a primary point-of-contact for startups, leveraging human centered design processes to assist them with addressing challenges and capitalizing on opportunities to scale and sustainably grow their companies. Oversees strategy, planning and execution of workstream roadmaps. Develops engagement goals and tactics, in collaboration with startups, which emphasize measurable outcomes and actionable results, as well as create strategic deliverables (e.g., discussion guides, go-to-market strategies, etc.), and support startups in executing the tactics, as appropriate. Orchestrates the continual optimization of key touchpoints through planned quantitative and qualitative testing. Designs tests and surveys to gather rapid insights, as well as plans and executes the required facilitation of In-Depth Interviews, Focus Groups, and User Testing. Establishes the KPIs and reporting performance plans in concert with the organization’s Data Analytics and Performance Management team for testing and optimization efforts. Assesses, optimizes, and recommends new marketing strategies for the organization’s digital properties and channels. Provides UX guidance, technical expertise and leadership to startups and the AARP Enterprise Innovation team around how they deliver websites, apps and other internal services/products, in service of accomplishing their goals. Monitors and manages transactional member journeys to troubleshoot any identified issues and maintain the product health of the platforms. Partners with key stakeholders across the organization (e.g., RCoE, Office of Volunteer Engagement, etc.) to execute strategies and tactics to meet enterprise dashboard goals and perform the appropriate market and product research. Creates compelling presentations that communicate strategic goals, as well as document success stories resulting from ongoing projects. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 5 years of experience in designing mobile-first responsive experiences. Proficient in creating flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups using Figma or similar tools. Experience in visual design and aesthetic principles. Experience working with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). Knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and experience ensuring compliance in designs. Proficient in conducting qualitative and quantitative user research to inform design decisions. Familiarity with Agile development processes and collaborative environments. Strong background in information architecture and optimizing user journeys, with familiarity with design tokens and their application in design systems. Ability to analyze website analytics and data for identifying patterns and improvement areas. Basic understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Up-to-date on the latest design trends and software technologies. Excellent self-motivation, time management, presentation, and communication skills, with the capability to articulate design choices to diverse audiences.
