This iconic landmark is one of a few restaurants accessible by boat with a large, sunny deck that offers sweeping views of Angel Island, Alcatraz, and the San Francisco skyline!
WHAT WOULD YOU DO AS An EXECUTIVE CHEF
As an Executive Chef at our restaurant, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our guests. You will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of food to order, ensuring that it meets our high standards of quality, speed, and taste. Ensuring recipes and procedures are followed, you will showcase your culinary skills and attention to detail in every dish created.
In addition to your culinary duties, you will also have supervisory responsibilities. Under the direction of the Chef, you will oversee kitchen personnel, ensuring that they adhere to our standards and maintain a high level of professionalism. In the absence of the Chef, you will take charge of managing and supervising all kitchen personnel, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining our commitment to excellence. This role requires strong leadership skills, a passion for delivering exceptional food, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. ARE YOU THE EXECUTIVE CHEF WE'RE LOOKING FOR?
To be successful in the Executive Chef role at our restaurant, several key skills are necessary. First and foremost, strong communication and leadership skills are essential. Remaining calm under pressure and making sound decisions quickly is crucial in the fast-paced kitchen environment. You should possess excellent problem-solving skills and good judgment to analyze and resolve any issues that may arise during service. Detail orientation is important to ensure that all dishes are prepared with precision and adhere to our quality standards.
Being able to work closely with vendors and front-of-house staff is necessary, as is the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. As the Executive Chef, you will work in a collaborative team environment, so being a team player and providing support to your colleagues is crucial. Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to lend a helping hand are all qualities we value.
Basic computer skills are required to navigate recipe systems, order supplies, and complete administrative tasks. Additionally, the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations is important for portioning ingredients and managing inventory.
