About the Role

The Company is in search of an Executive Director to spearhead the growth of the tourism industry in the region. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic leadership and financial stability of the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB). This pivotal role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations, including fiscal and operational management, and developing and implementing strategic goals to enhance regional tourism. The Executive Director will also serve as the primary spokesperson for tourism in the community, engaging with local, state, and national partners, and will be expected to build and maintain strong relationships with tourism stakeholders while effectively communicating the region's story. Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field, with a preference for an Associate’s degree and at least 5 years' experience in the tourism industry. The role requires a candidate with a deep knowledge of the tourism industry and the local area, proven experience in budgeting, staff management, and marketing plan implementation, as well as the ability to work with volunteers and develop community partnerships. The ideal candidate will be tech-savvy, with proficiency in social media and web management, and must have a valid driver’s license with the ability to travel as needed. Dynamic leadership skills are essential to energize the CVB team and drive the growth of the tourism sector in the region.
