About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its mission of promoting the health and safety of all individuals, with a focus on those affected by the racialized war on drugs. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader and spokesperson, embodying the values of transformation, collaboration, and equity. Responsibilities include setting a compelling vision and strategy, modeling core values, and overseeing the organizational culture. The Executive Director will also be responsible for fund development, maintaining financial stability, and ensuring that the organization's programs align with community needs and best practices. A key aspect of the role is to drive policy and regulatory change at the local and state levels and to maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to anti-Black racism and a strong background in harm reduction, human rights, or social justice. They should have at least 5 years of senior nonprofit leadership experience, a proven track record in fundraising, and a focus on equity and anti-racism. The role requires a compassionate management style, experience in mentoring and developing diverse teams, and the ability to navigate and transform conflict with a restorative justice mindset. The Executive Director will also be expected to maintain the organization's relevance at local, state, and national levels, and to foster a culture of collaboration and inclusivity. Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills are essential, and individuals with lived or shared experience are encouraged to apply.
