About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its reading-based mentorship program, which is dedicated to helping students develop the literacy and social-emotional skills essential for academic and life-long success. The successful candidate will be a visionary and strategic leader, responsible for the development and execution of the organization's strategic plan, as well as the oversight of its program, operations, and partnerships. This role involves leading a full-time team and serving as the primary face of the organization, with a significant focus on external leadership and fundraising. The Executive Director will also be tasked with fostering an inclusive, mission-driven organizational culture, and driving the development of a new strategic plan that aligns with the company's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should have at least 10 years of professional experience, with a preference for a background in literacy, elementary education, early childhood, and/or youth development. The role requires demonstrated management experience, excellence in organizational and people management, and a proven track record in fundraising. The ideal candidate will have a compassionate, empathetic, and collaborative leadership style, with a deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
