We have a great partner that is looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI!
This is a long-term contract opportunity.
The Cybersecurity Engineer will support a cross-functional team performing development and support of these activities as it relates to military and commercial products. This would include the design, development, and testing of cybersecurity on one or more vehicle programs.
The role will require a combination of hands-on testing and reporting of and compliance to DoD standards to identify and mitigate Cyber threats. This position would be responsible for working with internal customers to achieve desired goals as well as outside partners/customers to develop functional solutions.
This is a hybrid role with 3 days onsite in Auburn Hills, MI.
Travel expectation: up to 25%
The Cybersecurity Engineer will be responsible for:
- Support the Cybersecurity chief engineer and thereby the program chief engineer in AM General’s work under the contract for the life of the contract.
- Work with the System Security Engineer, the Software Lead, Product and Systems Engineering groups to ensure the program and product is cybersecure to the requirements of the program contract.
- Possess a foundational knowledge of cybersecurity within operating systems, vehicle component products and understand vehicle design. Capacity to extend general cybersecurity industry best practices to vehicle system and manage the associated risks.
- Work with a cross functional team to evaluate AMG products for security vulnerabilities and recommended controls.
- Provide hardware and software Cybersecurity support for AMG products.
- Perform Cybersecurity Scans on AMG products.
- Run automated and manual cybersecurity testing in a System Integration Lab
- Interact with various other groups within AMG to include Supply Chain Management, IS&S, Manufacturing, Quality, and other Engineering groups.
- Interact with outside vendors, partners, and customers.
- Support other areas of the business as needed.
Requirements
- U.S. person able to obtain a SECRET level clearance.
- Preferred to have a related technical degree in Computer Science or Cybersecurity. Industry cyber certifications a plus.
- 5 or more years of cybersecurity or related experience, preferably in military tactical vehicles or defense industry.
- Foundational to Working knowledge of MS Windows, Linux Operating Systems configurations and recommending mitigations based upon sound risk management principles.
- Capable of managing Vulnerability Scanning utilities, report analysis and able to recommend mitigations to identified issues.
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Must be able to work alone, as well as part of a team.
- Must be able to build consensus, make a decision, provide direction, and deliver.
- Prior military or defense acquisition service is a plus.
