Job Summary
The Medical Device Cybersecurity Technical Project Manager combines technical expertise with project management skills to drive cybersecurity initiatives across a portfolio of medical device products. This role involves hands-on work as well as overseeing the activities of other team members.
Essential Functions
Cybersecurity Process Implementation:
Implement and maintain cybersecurity processes, policies, and best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business goals.
Portfolio Management:
Manage cybersecurity activities across a portfolio of medical devices, including tracking cybersecurity activities and milestones.
Prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and ensure timely execution of projects.
Monitor progress, identify risks, and adjust plans as needed.
Technical Leadership:
Serve as a subject matter expert in medical device cybersecurity.
Conduct vulnerability assessments, threat modeling, and risk analysis.
Lead efforts to secure devices, including design, patch management and secure coding practices.
Project Management:
Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
Create project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Coordinate activities, resolve issues, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
Coordinate and collaborate activities with cross functional project and program managers.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with R&D, quality, regulatory, and compliance teams.
Communicate cybersecurity requirements and progress to senior management.
Foster a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement.
Hands-On Contributions:
Perform hands-on tasks such as vulnerability testing, document creation and updates, and incident response.
Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance.
Required/Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field. required
Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical device cybersecurity preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management preferred
Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, PMP) Preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong understanding of relevant standards (e.g., ISO 13485, IEC 62304, BS EN IEC 81001-5-1).
Project management experience with excellent project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
