You Are:

You are
an accomplished cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in
Cybersecurity Data Protection engineering who implements and supports Data
Protection solutions to protect data/assets from unauthorized access, use,
disclosure, destruction, modification, or disruption. You conduct regular data
risk assessments, recommend controls, and countermeasures to mitigate
identified risks, and monitor the effectiveness of the implemented security
measures.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Develop and implement data protection strategies and initiatives, including classification and handling, data access controls, inventory, encryption, and retention.
  • Work closely with other stakeholders to enforce data protection-related policies and respond to regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain data security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure they are followed by the entire organization.
  • Create and maintain data inventories and data flows, and manage data sharing controls.
  • Drive the design and implementation of data access controls, ensuring only authorized access to sensitive data.
  • Co-develop and implement data retention policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Enforce data encryption standards and strategies to secure data at rest and in transit.
  • Lead incident response efforts related to data breaches and work with stakeholders to mitigate impact.
  • Lead and conduct regular data risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and threats to the organization's data and information systems
  • Stay abreast of new developments in the field of cybersecurity and ensure that the organization's risk assessment and data security processes are aligned with industry standards and best practices.
  • Act as an expert and mentor for other data protection engineers in the organization, providing guidance and support on data protection methodologies, techniques, and best practices.
  • Manage and supervise the work of other data protection engineers, including reviewing and approving their work when needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, product managers, and business partners to integrate data security into all phases of system development and deployment.
  • Develop security policies, standards, and procedures to establish a strong cybersecurity foundation.
  • Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity trends, tools, and best practices to advise on improvements.

What You'll Need:

  • University degree or equivalent certified education and experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in Cybersecurity Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in data protection, cybersecurity, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of data protection regulations, standards, and frameworks.
  • Proficiency in data security technologies, including encryption, access controls, and data loss prevention.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on identifying and addressing data security risks.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex data protection concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with industry frameworks & regulatory standards such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA-HITECH, Sarbanes-Oxley, GDPR, Privacy Practices, ISO 27001/2, NIST CSF/800.53, FedRamp, StteRamp, IEC 62443.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC preferred.

The Team You'll Be A Part Of:

As a
Cybersecurity Data Protection Engineer, you will join a collaborative
cybersecurity team that prioritizes data protection and is committed to
protecting the organization's digital assets. The team works closely with IT,
Product Development, Legal, Privacy, and Compliance departments.
