Cybersecurity Engineer - 60434
Pay Rate : $60-$65/hr.
Top must-have technologies/requirements:
OT VMware, basic networking, Windows, Active Directory
Level of experience:
Mid to senior is preferable ideally 5 years but can flex Domain/Industry experience: Can come from O&G, manufacturing, warehouse, or any similar OT environment
Preferred qualifications:

Net new Current state: In process of standardizing OT Cybersecurity Project info/background (Explain relevant examples - like tell clients that I will ask questions about their project, what it is, process, development environment, etc.): o Process controlled environment. Airgapped controlled environment. VMware, AD, common set of utilities semantic. More traditional o Client is on a journey to standardized process control network. Calling it "Cyberwise." Traditional Purdue model right now and to move to zones and etc. Standardized config Augment existing team to drive and own some of those projects. 2025 implementation on Tenable.OT. There is a whole lot of config they are looking to set up o OT experience is a must o Foundational architecture, VMware, common networking, firewalls palo alto, etc. Spin up new machines, re IP things. They want them to do a lot of work themselves. 50/50 doing and planning o Implementation, deploying SQL, maintenance jobs, nothing DBA really. Tool being deployed is against standards they want to load (CIS for Chevron). Knowing what they need for something like compliance scanning Goal: Standardize OT cybersecurity practices Tell me about the people on the team/who they would work with: Has resources and this contractor can go to them for questions. Fairly small group 9 total and this contractor will interact with about 4 people.

Job Description:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and compliance of our operational technology infrastructure. This role involves supporting the deployment and implementation of various systems and solutions, including SQL, IIS & ESXI Servers, Palo Alto Firewalls, and Cisco Switches and Routers. The OT Engineer will also be responsible for deploying multi-factor authentication for secure remote access, implementing Tenable.OT to scan a large number of devices, and supporting the deployment of the PCN asset inventory management solution Axonius.
Responsibilities:
- Support the deployment and implementation of hardening and compliance rules to SQL, IIS & ESXI Servers, Firewalls, and Routers.
- Deploy multi-factor authentication to enable secure remote access for remaining PCN remote access users.
- Implement and deploy Tenable.OT to scan approximately 3000+ devices.
- Assist with pre-work, deployment, and implementation of the PCN asset inventory management solution, Axonius.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for operational technology systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience
- Proven experience deploying and managing Active Directory, SQL, IIS, ESXi, and Windows Servers as well as Palo Alto Firewalls, and Cisco Routers, and Switches in a PCN or OT environment.
- Experience with multi-factor authentication deployment and management.
- Familiarity with Tenable.OT and its implementation.
- Knowledge of PCN asset inventory management solutions, particularly Axonius.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Desired Skills:
- Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH).
- Experience in the energy or utilities sector.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., NERC CIP, ISO 27001).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools.
- Familiarity with network security and monitoring tools.
