Role and Responsibilities
Samsung Wallet is a mobile payment service and digital wallet developed by Samsung. It is designed to be a one-stop shop for all debit cards, credit cards, digital passes, and tickets, making them easy to access and use when necessary. With the rise of NFC payment terminals in stores and evolving consumer preferences over the past year, Samsung Wallet has never been more important. Working on the Samsung Wallet team will give you a chance to make a significant impact on the lives of millions of people around the world, and will be invaluable to the future of payments and financial services. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with and learn from experts from a variety of fields, as well as work on exciting, challenging projects.
We are looking for someone with significant experience in building strategic partnerships to launch new consumer services, particularly those related to financial services and payments. The ideal candidate should have a passion for helping users achieve better financial well-being and have a strong understanding of financial services and the payments industry. You should manage partnerships that drive strategic value, foster long-term growth, and benefit stakeholders through collaborative innovation and mutually advantageous outcomes, by combining your business insight, technical understanding, logical thinking, and communication abilities.
Source, negotiate, and finalize new strategic partnerships
Cultivate strong and highly effective relationships with key partners to pursue strategic growth opportunities
Develop and execute strategic initiatives to accelerate Samsung Wallet ecosystem by collaborating with content partners, developers, and platforms, further expanding the partnerships
Shape our products and partnerships by providing business insights and fostering meaningful collaborations with cross-functional teams, including product development, engineering, marketing, and operations teams from both local offices and the Korea headquarters
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
At least 12 years of experience in business development and partnership management, ideally in the mobile and financial services space
Proven track record of sourcing, managing, and negotiating with partners
Experience working with and leading cross-functional teams
Ability to deal with ambiguity, solve complex problems, and navigate large, global organizations
Deep understanding of the mobile ecosystem and financial service space with fluency in business models and knowledge of the competitive landscape
Ability to work proficiently in highly technical settings, leveraging product management and development teams during negotiations and implementation
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA preferred
Experience in large-scale, mobile-first applications and services
Proven partnership success in financial services / financial technology
Familiarity with financial technical infrastructure (e.g. processors and card networks)
Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau)
Proficiency in Korean language is desirable, but not mandatory
