Job Summary:
The CDL A Semi-Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods between distribution centers, warehouses, and customers. This role involves loading and unloading trucks, operating forklifts, and using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) to ensure compliance with DOT regulations. The driver will maintain communication with dispatchers, clients, and other drivers, adhering to delivery schedules and safety standards.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a semi-truck to transport goods as scheduled.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring it is properly secured and handled with care.
- Operate a forklift for loading and unloading tasks.
- Use an Electronic Logging Device (ELD) to track driving hours and maintain DOT compliance.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting any issues to the Transportation Manager.
- Maintain professional communication with dispatchers, clients, and other personnel.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations.
- Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing time efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in operating Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs).
- Forklift operation skills (certification preferred).
- Ability to function in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- Valid CDL Class A driver’s license.
- 2+ years of experience as a CDL A semi-truck driver preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts and managing cargo.
- Clean driving record required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of driving, standing, and/or walking during shifts.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- The employee is frequently required to stand, use hands to handle or feel objects, and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee may occasionally need to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
