POSITION TITLE: Delivery Driver

Position Summary: Primarily responsible for providing effective customer service in driving and warehouse duties for all internal and external customers by utilizing excellent, in-depth knowledge of company products and job requirements, as well as working with team members within the Customer Service Department and Company.
GENERAL PURPOSE Perform a variety of routine and complex transportation work in driving and coordinating transportation for delivery of company products to customers. In addition, duties include but are not limited to stocking, pulling and loading of products in warehouse and facility as needed or required. Duties and responsibilities may change based on needs and expectations of the company. Will travel up to 150 miles making deliveries daily. This will include New York deliveries as well.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE Perform a variety of duties in the operation of the Warehouse/Distribution such as frequent stops, including long and short run hauling, loading/unloading and stocking in warehouse. Employee must meet all levels of a pre-employment background check and any other related search and testing for this position including proper DOT, MVR, Drug Screen, and other requirement as specified. This testing or requirements must be met yearly or as directed to continue employment.
- Should always use economical use of time and equipment. .
- Follow all construction and road rules as required by company and state laws.
- Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to supervisor; clean equipment.
- Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
- Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules as it pertains to area.
- Entry of log book as required.
- Use safe and sound judgment while driving and providing deliveries. Will never willfully damage equipment.
- Other duties as assigned and not included in this position are given by supervisor and required by company.
IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
Education and Experience: Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, one (1) year relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job. Excellent driving record must be maintained at all times.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving.
- Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment. Forklift operation, power or hand truck and lift gate use.
- Ability to safely drive various vehicles.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions.
- Ability to make independent judgments, which have moderate impacts on the organization.
- Subject to valid driver license and random drug testing for driving of company vehicle.
- Class B CDL preferred
RESPONSIBILITY FOR PUBLIC CONTACT Daily contact requiring courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment. Maintaining professional attitude at all time with employees and customers.
Clean MVR and proper Drug testing also required and maintained. Will be selected and notified in the Random Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED Transportation vehicles, pickup truck, utility truck, common hand and power tools is needed. Work boots required.
