We are now hiring for a Tender Truck Driver for our Oconee/Columbus, NE location! This position is being offered as full-time with benefits.
A Tender Truck Driver is responsible for operating company licensed commercial vehicles in a safe, effective, and efficient manner while delivering dry/liquid fertilizers and chemicals, in a manner that will ensure excellent customer service and standards are met. To assure your success in this position, Frontier Cooperative provides industry-specific training and tools necessary to obtain the proper credentials and certifications required for this position.
Essential Duties:
- Requires a CDL Class A or Class B, with proper endorsements, to operate the tender semi-trucks or straight trucks while transporting dry and liquid fertilizers or anhydrous ammonia nurse trailers to producer’s fields.
- Depending on company location, this position assists with loading of chemicals manually or through the company software system according to specifications given by Ag Advisors; load chemicals into containers by connecting hoses and operating the transfer system; when transfer is complete, this position secures the vehicle for transport; receives customer location maps and delivery instructions; retains load tickets, Bills of Ladling, &/or hazardous shipping papers at all times during transport.
- Delivers product to AG Equipment Operators located at producer’s fields; prepares truck for product transfer; connects hoses to applicator machinery, operate pumps to transfer the product; clears hose lines when transfer is complete and secures hoses to truck; when needed, this position also submits load tickets to Ag Equipment Operator regarding delivered product & returns to chemical plant for another product load.
Job skills and requirements:
- Customer service skills essential; will be transporting a variety of products that require physical &/or manual labor skills; abide by various local & federal regulations & safety protocols; able to effectively manage time & prioritize job duties; problem-solving, & analyzing information skills needed for success in this position.
- Ability to safely & efficiently operate a variety of commercial vehicles & farm equipment: bobcat, skidloader, frontend loadrer, tractors, trenches, boom trucks, pneumatic and hand tools, bench tools, computers and company software programs.
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or electronic form; read and interpret work orders, batch loads, gauges, meters, directional and plot maps, safety rules, State & Federal commercial driving regulations, weigh tickets, load and delivery tickets, operating and maintenance procedure manuals and instructions.
- Able to perform Pre and Post Trip Inspections, complete maintenance & repair tickets, mileage & fuel reports, complete work orders & general correspondence.
- Perform basic math computations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, proportions, percentages, and volume.
