Job Description Organization Effectiveness Advisor (Director)

About the role:

The Organization Effectiveness Advisor will partner closely with HR and business leaders to build OE capability and deliver prioritized projects or programs where OE capability is a key enabler. This role will be an expert in the processes, tools and methodologies associated with prioritized domain areas (e.g. team effectiveness, organization design and change management) as outlined by the Global head of OE, as well as insight to and experience in innovative practices. The OE Advisor is a key partner in diagnosing, designing and delivering organization effectiveness outcomes.

As an internal advisor, the incumbent will work closely with HR Business partners, COE partners and business leaders across regions and functions, diagnosing organizational challenges, identifying opportunities for improvement, and developing solutions to enhance effectiveness. The focus will be on enabling high-impact projects critical to delivery of our business strategy.

This role reports to the Global Head of Organization Effectiveness and is located in Foster City.

Responsibilities:

Collaborates with senior HR and business leaders to diagnose organizational challenges and opportunities. Leverage insights to inform the design and implementation of tailored strategies that drive business success.

Partners on high-value and complex programs/projects from inception through execution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and leveraging OE practices, tools and capabilities to ensure outcomes. Works across Talent, Development and Inclusion to align capabilities and approaches to deliver projects or programs.

Drives effective change management practices to enhance adoption and sustainment of new initiatives. Utilizes data-driven approaches to assess the impact of change and foster a culture that embraces innovation.

Partners to embed OE capabilities in HR and the business. Brings expertise to develop frameworks, tools and approaches for use with different audiences. Plays a key role is enabling HR capability development in selected domain areas.

Works across the Talent, Development and Inclusion and Analytics team to review OE metrics and analyze organizational health.

Designs and implements metrics to be used to support performance improvement or organization health outcomes. Has a future oriented mindset while developing approaches that are simple and easy to use.

Expertise:

Leadership: Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in organizational effectiveness, HR strategy, or management consulting.

Strong expertise in change management principles and methodologies (certification in Prosci or similar frameworks is a plus).

Experience in leading complex transformation efforts and driving organizational design and change.

Industry Experience: Experience within the Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry preferred.

Analytical Expertise: Utilizing data-driven approaches to develop insight and diagnose opportunities, as well as inform decision making.

Business Acumen: Demonstrated understanding of strategic and operational drivers of business performance.

Global mindset: The ideal candidate will bring global experience, having partnered with teams across geographies.

Leadership Capabilities:

Proven track record of managing high-value, complex programs/projects with successful outcomes.

Exceptional knowledge of change management principles and practices, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to utilize data to drive decision-making and measure success.

Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, adept at building relationships and influencing stakeholders.

A strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and a passion for organizational development.

Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills. Is able to simplify and integrate complex concepts and ideas.

The salary range for this position is: $205,700.00 - $266,200.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
