Job Summary
The Director of Health Information Management Operations is responsible for providing the vision, strategic direction, and leadership for HIM Operations for the Johns Hopkins Health System. This position requires knowledge and experience required to direct HIM Operations in a multi-facility, multi-state hospital system. The Director of HIM Operations will be responsible for the overall performance of HIM Privacy, Scanning, Release of Information (ROI), Deficiency Management, Record Integrity Reviews, Patient Identity, and Forms Management Services across multiple facilities through a shared services model. The Director will demonstrate strong customer service and collaboration skills, the ability to develop the leadership needed to manage performance expectations, and ensure timely and accurate results, while working within the established budget. The Director is responsible for compliance with all Federal and State regulations, as they apply to the management and privacy of patient information, as well as Joint Commission Record of Care standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management required. Master's degree preferred.
RHIA required.
Minimum of ten (10) years of leadership experience in Health Information Management. Experience in a large medical center and multi-facility health system preferred. Prior work experience must include project and/or management experience in a highly automated environment, with demonstrated experience managing operations required. Must demonstrate team-building experience, and process improvement concepts, to positively influence the work environment.
