Phillip's Towing Service Company is actively seeking a skilled Tow Truck Driver/Operator with a valid North Carolina CDL A license to join our team. MUST LIVE WITHIN 30 MINUTES of Fayetteville. While a Hazmat or Tanker endorsement is preferred, we welcome applicants willing to obtain these certifications shortly after joining. This role involves providing reliable and efficient towing services in Eastern North Carolina.

Job Requirements:

  • Valid NC CDL A license
  • Stay within 30 minutes of Fayetteville
  • Able to work 2nd shift if needed
  • Capability to acquire Hazmat and Tanker endorsements shortly if not currently held.
  • Clean driving history
  • No felonies to meet Hazmat requirements.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment DOT physical examination, DOT drug test, and Clearinghouse, and comply with applicable FMCSA regulations.
  • Flexibility to work a rotational on-call schedule for after-hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage stressful situations calmly, efficiently, and professionally.
  • Operate a tow truck to transport vehicles to designated locations.
  • Load and unload vehicles onto the tow truck using a flatbed or other towing equipment.
  • Safely secure vehicles to the tow truck to prevent damage during transportation.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating the tow truck.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting stranded motorists and ensuring the safe transportation of their vehicles.
  • Perform basic jumpstarts, lockouts, winch outs, and other services.

Additional Requirements:

  • Proficiency in operating manual transmission.
  • Strong backing skills are necessary!
  • Mechanical knowledge and experience with automotive diagnostics preferred.
  • The ability to operate various vehicles and heavy equipment is advantageous.
  • Previous experience operating a tow truck or similar equipment is a plus but will train the right candidate.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Time management and self-discipline are essential.
