Position Overview:
As a Dental Assistant at PGA Dentistry, you'll play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparation: Sterilizing instruments, setting up treatment rooms, and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for dental procedures.
- Assisting the Dentist: Handing instruments, suctioning, and providing support during dental procedures.
- Patient Care: Taking and recording vital signs, medical history, and dental charting.
- Dental Receptionist Duties: Scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and managing patient records as needed.
- Patient Education: Educating patients on dental treatments, proper oral hygiene techniques, and post-treatment care instructions.
- Compliance: Maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Infection Control: Adhering to strict infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Laboratory Support: Assisting with tasks like pouring models, fabricating temporary crowns, and managing lab cases.
- Proficiency in dental practice management systems (such as Dentrix).
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and medical terminology.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and team members.
- Ability to take accurate vital signs and maintain detailed medical history.
- Knowledge of dental anatomy and procedures.
- Understanding of infection control protocols and safety measures.
